House fire displaces 12 in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, MASS (WLNE) – A house fire that displaced 12 people in New Bedford is currently under investigation.
The fire started in the rear hallway of a multi family home on 88 Ruth Street at approximately 4:28 A.M.
The New Bedford Fire Department said 3 engines and 2 ladders were called to the scene.
The house endured minimum-moderate interior damage, but significant electrical damage, according to the department.
According to the department, The Red Cross was called to assist the 12 people displaced.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
