House fire in Westerly under investigation by fire marshal

WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Westerly Fire Department said that a house fire that occurred on March 9 was under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.

The fire started around 11 a.m. on the corner of White Rock Road and Cottage Street.

The department said the fire necessitated a second alarm be struck and required assistance from the Pawcatuck Fire Department.

The scene was eventually cleared at 2:30 p.m.
