Human remains discovered in state forest in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said that the remains of two people were found by hunters in the state forest Saturday.

The department said the hunters were taking part in the opening day of pheasant seasons when they found the remains outside a vehicle near Copicut Road.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said that the human remains were “skeletal” and that a suicide note was also found.

Police said that a preliminary investigation ” indicate[d] that there are no outside actors involved.”

The scene was still under investigation.
