PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Around 100 ATVs and dirt bikes could be seen roaring down North Main St. in Providence Friday evening.

Authorities told ABC6 this will likely be a common occurrence now that we are in summer. It’s illegal to operate ATVs and dirt bikes on city streets.

In March, officials from Providence and Cranston announced a crackdown on illegal riding, creating a task force to address the issue.

Providence police say authorities were sent to try and break up the pack, but no arrests have been made.
