Hundreds rally in support of Palestine at Rhode Island State House

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A rally and march in solidarity with Palestine was held in Providence Saturday afternoon.

The “All Out for Palestine” rally was organized in response to the Israel-Hamas War started on Oct. 7, and Israel’s current military campaign that started after a Hamas attack that resulted in hostages being taken into Gaza.

The event was organized and attended by multiple local activist organizations including the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Jewish Voice for Peace Rhode Island, Direct Action for Rights and Equality, and the Brown Graduate Labor Organization.

Organizers said the rally’s goals are “demanding an immediate end to U.S. military aid to Israel, and an end to the occupation and genocide in Palestine.”

Rally goers joined speakers in the rain for chants like “Free, Free Palestine!” and “Not another nickel, not another dime.”

Farah, a Palestinian-American student at Rhode Island College who helped lead the event, said she wasn’t happy that it was raining, but she thought, “at least it’s not raining rockets and bombs.”
