TAUNTON, MA (WLNE) – Hundreds of Taunton residents had their gas services turned off Thursday as crews worked to shut down a gas leak.
Construction crews working at Hart’s Four Corners in Taunton hit a gas line Thursday morning, isolating the area so they could begin the repair process
Six hundred customers and several businesses were impacted by the leak and will likely be without gas until the end of the day.
Ten residents were evacuated and a nearby Dunkin’ Donuts will be closed for the remainder of the day.
A spokesperson for Columbia Gas said they expect to be working on the leak through the afternoon, but that those impacted customers should have the gas back on by the end of the day.
