I-95 ramp in Attleboro closed due to erosion
ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — A ramp to Interstate 95 in Attleboro was closed Monday due to erosion near the roadway.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced the immediate closure of the ramp from I-295 Northbound to I-95 Southbound just after 2 p.m.
Officials said MassDOT crews found an eroding area alongside the ramp’s travel lane, closing the roadway to allow for necessary repairs and to prevent damage to the ramp.
MassDOT offered the following detour directions for I-295 northbound to I-95 southbound traffic:
- Bear left to take the exit onto I-95 northbound
- Travel northbound on I-95 and take exit 7 (Robert F. Toner Boulevard)
- Take a right onto Robert F. Toner Boulevard
- Take a right onto the exit to I-95 southbound
Officials did not offer a timeline for the repairs but said drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
