In social media post, Trump defies federal judges’ rulings on SNAP benefits

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — President Donald Trump is refusing to reactivate SNAP benefits after two rulings from federal judges ordered his administration to do so, according to a social media post from Trump.

Trump said that SNAP won’t be reactivated until “Radical Left Democrats open up the government.”

Trump posted to his social media site Truth Social Tuesday morning:

SNAP benefits lapsed on Saturday due to the ongoing government shutdown.

Federal judges in Massachusetts and Rhode Island ruled that SNAP had to be partially funded by the administration.
