Incoming State Representative Announces Resignation

An incoming state representative has announced he’s stepping down amid a mailer controversy.
Ascencao revealed his decision on Facebook Wednesday evening and apologized to those who voted for him.
Ascencao admitted yesterday to lying to some Warren Democrats and that despite claiming that he sent a mailer out for their campaigns, he never did.
The District 68 representative-elect then created fake documents to cover up the lie.
Ascencao said he will try to make amends, though he did not specify what his next course of action will be.
