Independence Day giveaway gives free gas to Rhode Island veterans

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — In honor of the armed service veterans, an Independence Day giveaway will help fight the soaring gas prices for Rhode Islanders who’ve served.

The Sunoco gas station at 101 Pleasant View Ave. in Smithfield will be filling up to 10 gallons of gas for the first 200 cars from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday.

To receive service, an active military ID or veterans identification card must be presented. This giveaway only applies to Rhode Island veterans.
