PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Independent Man is making his trip to what will be home for the next few months.

The famed statue was seen strapped to a flatbed truck being transported to the Rhode Island National Guard’s North Street Armory in Providence for repairs.

The repairs include a detailed cleaning, gold plating repair and application of gold leaf.
