Individual detained in Connecticut after gunpoint kidnapping report from Providence

MADISON, Conn. (WLNE) — An individual has been detained in Connecticut based off of a “be on the lookout” (BOLO) from Providence police stemming from a reported gunpoint kidnapping.

According to Connecticut State Police, troopers responded to a Madison rest area on I-95 following the BOLO from Providence police at approximately 1:57 a.m. Thursday.

Madison is approximately 85 miles from Providence.

The vehicle reportedly connected to the male subject and the incident was located at the rest area, and was found occupied by a male and a female.

The male was detained in connection to the Providence police BOLO, and a firearm was located and seized, according to Connecticut State Police.

The subject was subsequently arrested on as of yet unannounced charges.
