ACI Inmate violently assaulted Corrections Officer

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – A Correctional Officer was violently assaulted by an inmate in the Intake Service Center Tuesday, June 20.

Officers identified the inmate as Darren Frappier, who was serving a 30-day sentence for Domestic Assault.

The assault on the Corrections Officer occurred in the B Module block of the building, where the officer suffered a broken eye socket, nose, and shoulder injury.

Frappier has had a criminal record since 2014 for assault, breaking and entering, and disorderly conduct.

On Wednesday June 21, Inmate Frappier was arraigned on felony assault on a Correctional Officer and disorderly conduct.
