Investigation finds driver in deadly Narragansett crash was over legal limit

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Narragansett Police Department said the investigation into a car crash that occurred on Mumford Road in November 2024 found the driver was two times over the legal limit for alcohol.

26-year-old Andres Naranjo and 24-year-old Samuel White died after their car ran off the side of the road, flew through the air, and struck a tree on Nov. 16.

Police said an autopsy found that Naranjo had “marijuana in his system along with a blood alcohol content that was greater than two times the legal limit at the time of the crash.”

Two other passengers in the car were transported to the hospital.
