Investigation leads to arrest of Lowell man for illegal distribution of firearms and drugs

LOWELL, Mass. (WLNE) – A month-long investigation by the Massachusetts State Police ended Wednesday in the arrest of a Lowell man for illegally selling firearms and narcotics.
State police received a tip in early June about a potential cocaine trafficking and distribution operation in the Lowell area. Police determined the suspect was Fabian Santana, 28, of Lowell, who was found to possibly be associated with the Latin Kings street gang.
After finding his phone number through previous police reports and a social media investigation, an undercover State Trooper contacted Santana about selling cocaine. Officers coordinated multiple controlled purchases of narcotics and firearms.
Authorities found Santana had been previously convicted of a felony, and could not legally possess firearms.
At around 6 a.m. Wednesday, officers conducted a “Knock and Announce” Search Warrant at Santana’s residence. They seized five firearms, two of which were ghost guns, one which was reported missing, and one that had an “obliterated serial number.”
Authorities also seized 1.5 pounds of suspected marijuana, 105 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and around$2,500 in cash. Santana was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.
