Investigation underway in Woods Hole water rescue
FALMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — An investigation is underway in Falmouth following a water rescue near Juniper Point.
It’s not clear if this man was a passenger on one of the steamship authority ferries, but passengers on an incoming ferry spotted him just off Woods Hole around 3 Monday afternoon.
Roy Mundy says it was surreal and shocking.
“You could actually see him. He was only about 5, maybe 10 yards away from the boat. And just kind of bobbing up and down looking at the boat. He wasn’t waving his hands like he was in distress. He was kind of just, you know, floating bobbing around,” said Mundy.
In the end, the crew of a coast guard helicopter out of joint base cape cod spotted that man and lifted him to safety.
The man was taken to a hospital to be checked out.
He is expected to be ok.
