Multi-vehicle crash leaves tractor-trailer jack-knifed on I-95 South, causes major traffic delays

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A multi-vehicle crash on I-95 South left a truck jack-knifed, causing major traffic during Wednesday’s early morning commute in Providence.
State Police said that the crash happened just south of Exit 22 at around 8:05 a.m.
The tractor-trailer hit a vehicle in the back, then sideswiped a second vehicle and hit the high speed barrier.
After hitting the barrier, the truck then went right and hit two more vehicles, before hitting the right barrier and coming to a stop across all lanes.
All vehicles involved in the crash were towed, and four of the drivers were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with complaints of pain.
The above photo from a RIDOT traffic camera showed the truck (top left) across all southbound lanes.
Traffic was able to be seen on RIDOT’s other cameras all the way through Pawtucket.
The crash was cleared at around 10:05 a.m., and all lanes are now open.
