Jamestown Firefighters rescue dog, person from cliff at park

JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department rescued a dog and person from a cliff at Beavertail National Park.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. when a dog fell off the cliff and was unable to get back up. A person who attempted to reach the dog was also unable to get up the cliff.

Firefighters said they used a rope system and lowered two firefighters to rescue both the dog and person. Neither were injured.
