PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Rhode Island‘s legislative session began with a new governor and General Assembly leaders focused on creating jobs and reviving the economy.

Six months later, the regular session abruptly ended Thursday with the fate of dozens of bills still undecided.

House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello says those proposals weren’t substantial. He says the most consequential bill was the budget that was approved.

Gov. Gina Raimondo says the passage of her “jobs plan” with initiatives and tax credits to spur job growth was the biggest highlight.

Raimondo was disappointed, though, that her proposal to toll large commercial trucks to fund bridge repairs didn’t advance. Both chambers and Raimondo endorsed raising the state’s minimum wage.

Lawmakers plan to return in the fall to take up outstanding bills.
