Johnston gets one-week extension of post-flooding temporary access road

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Johnston mayor Joseph Polisena, Jr. has been granted a one-week extension of the temporary access road connecting Belfield Drive and I-295 South.
The extension was put in place due to recent heavy rainfall and snow melt which led to flooding.
The road extension agreement was reached in conjunction with Senator Jack Reed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Representative Seth Magaziner.
“I want to reassure our residents on Belfield Drive who remain impacted by this disaster that their health, welfare, and safety remain top priority,” said Mayor Polisena, Jr.
