Johnston man charged with possession of illegal fireworks

State Police have arrested a Johnston man accused of having $15,000 worth of illegal fireworks.

37-year-old Peter St. Lawrence was arrested Monday at his home on Starr Street.

Investigators received a tip that St. Lawrence has a stash of illegal fireworks before getting a warrant to search the property. That’s when the fireworks were found hidden in a storage shed.

If convicted, he could face up to a year in prison.
