Johnston Police investigating assault where victim claims they were ‘bodyslammed’

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Johnston Police Department said it is investigating an assault that occurred Saturday morning.

The victim, a 28-year-old male, told police he was jogging near the intersection of Lyman Avenue and Springfield Avenue around 9 a.m. when he was assaulted.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a dark colored jacket.

The victim was uninjured.

Police said the investigation is active.
