Johnston police seek male suspect in assault

Johnston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an assault Wednesday night. 

Police say on August 19th at 9:20 p.m. an elderly woman sustained injuries after she was knocked to the ground and dragged by a male attempting to take her purse in the parking of a Stop & Shop on Commerce Way . Her condition is unknown. 

The Johnston police department is asking anyone with information to call them at 401-757-3176.
