Johnston Police seize 47 marijuana plants from home

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was arrested Thursday afternoon after police seized 47 marijuana plants from his residence.

Johnston Police said after an extensive investigation, 43-year-old Hector Rosa was taken into custody.

Officers executed a search warrant at Rosa’s home on Brown Ave, located approximately 194 feet from the Brown Ave School around 10:00 a.m., where a marijuana cultivation operation was discovered.

Thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment, and 47 plants were found inside the home.

Rosa was charged with the following offenses:

  • Manufacturing/Possession/Delivery of Schedule 1/II -Felony
  • Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance near a School (violation if within 300 yards)-Felony.

Rosa is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
