Judge Frank Caprio reflects on life in emotional interview

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Judge Frank Caprio released an emotional video Wednesday reflecting on life amid his battle against cancer.

“I don’t know what the future holds,” Caprio said in an interview with Despierta America. “So I tell you, enjoy every minute of your life.”

Caprio announced back in December that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, shortly after turning 87 years old.

He is best known for his compassionate rulings on the popular television show “Caught in Providence” presiding over Providence Municipal Court.

“Sometimes in life, we take things for granted,” Caprio said. “We have a nice life…That’s wonderful, as long as it lasts.”

“But you never know from one day to the next what life will bring,” he continued.

Caprio was recently inducted into Providence’s Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame.

He was also honored with an appearance on the jumbotron at a recent Providence Friars game.

“And so, enjoy what you have,” Caprio concluded. “Be kind to people. Take care of your families.”
