Jury finds Lincoln man guilty of child molestation

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced today that a Lincoln has been found guilty in Providence County Superior Court of multiple counts of second-degree child molestation.
34-year-old Nicholas Oliveira was found guilty of three counts of second-degree child molestation against three victims between 2016 and 2017. The defendant had also been charged with first-degree child molestation in Connecticut, however the case remains pending there.
During the trial, a press release states that the prosecution was able to prove that Oliveira assaulted three girls under 14-years-old on multiple occasions. He also knew the individuals, according to officials.
Oliveira was a teacher at Ashton Elementary in Cumberland back in 2019.
