The defense for former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has agreed to remove certain religious items and sports memorabilia from his home, after prosecutors complained ahead of a jury visit.
Prosecutor Patrick Bomberg cited the O.J. Simpson case on Thursday as he said trophies and religious items have been added to the home since the 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd. He compared it to how Simpson’s home was manipulated during his murder trial to add photos and a Bible.
The judge previously ruled jurors would get to see Hernandez’s trophy case and personal items in his home at the time of the killing.
After the judge said new items could not be displayed, the defense said they would remove them or cover them up.
