Justin Massey Leaving Brown Basketball Program, Transferring Back To Florida Atlantic

Brown University Press Release
Providence, R.I. – Brown men’s basketball coach Mike Martin announced today that sophomore transfer Justin Massey (Cooper City, FL) has left the Brown basketball program to return to Florida Atlantic University.
“We are sorry to see Justin go, but we support his decision and wish him well as he returns to the Florida Atlantic program,” said Martin. “I am really appreciative of the strong work ethic and positive attitude he has displayed while being a member of our program. Justin is a terrific teammate, very coachable, and I am confident that he will have a productive finish to his career at FAU.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity that was presented to me to join the men’s basketball program here at Brown, and appreciate the time and effort that everybody who was involved put forth,” said Massey. “But, I feel as if I am more suited back in the FAU program and would like to return there. I want to thank Coach Martin, the rest of the staff, and my teammates for allowing me to become a part of the program even for this short time. I wish them the best of luck and hope to see their success in the near future.”
Massey had started all nine games for the Bears and averaged 9.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 19 points in the Bears’ win over Bryant. Massey’s twin brother, Jason, is a sophomore on the Brown basketball team.
