Juveniles assault four staff members at RI Training School

CRANSTON, R.I (WLNE) – The Rhode Island State Police are investigating a disturbance that sent one staff member to the hospital, and injured two others.
Authorities were called to the Training School around 11:20 p.m., for the report of a disturbance involving juveniles.
A fire alarm and fire sprinkler system activation forced residents in one unit to be moved to the outside courtyard, where four Juvenile Program Workers were assaulted while attempting to maintain order, officials say
ABC6 News learned three staff members were treated on scene, and the fourth was transported to Kent County Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries on the head and face.
Clean up of the flooded unit is ongoing said a representative from DCYF.
The juveniles involved will be brought to Family Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
