K9 Bo officially sworn in as member of Newport Police Department

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — A new K9 was official sworn into the Newport Police Department Wednesday night at City Hall.

Bo, a chocolate lab puppy, has joined the department as a therapy/comfort K9.

The pup will be partnered with Community Police Officer Nick St. Lawrence in the Community Policing Unit.

Bo will also be trained to detect explosives at public events.
