Karen Read jury selection continues with opening statements expected next week

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Wednesday marks a week since the start of jury selection in the murder retrial of Karen Read.

Four more jurors are needed as the case resumes.

Six men and six women have been seated on the jury, with a total of 16 needed.

47 people were in Tuesday’s pool of potential jurors, and 45 of them said they have heard of the case, 27 said they have formed an opinion about the case and 15 said they have a bias.

25 said serving as a juror on the case would be a hardship for them.

Opening statements are expected to begin next week.
