La Francophonie celebration coming to the Rhode Island State House
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) –The Ocean State will honor the country’s oldest ally Thursday, with a ceremony and celebration of France’s culture.
The Rhode Island Historical Society will host the “la Francophonie” celebration at the state house.
The RI Students Choir will open the ceremony, before governor Dan McKee gives remarks.
There will also be a flag raising outside of the state house.
International dignitaries from France and Canada are set to attend the ceremony, which begins at 3 p.m. in the State Room.
The ceremony is open to the public and there will be refreshments served.
