Labor Day Travel plans could be affected by Tropical Storm Hermine

Millions of American hitting the road this labor day weekend, to try and enjoy the un-official end of summer.
 
"We always anticipate somewhere in the vicinity of 35 million people will travel 50 miles or more from home and of that number a good 85 percent of them go by car,"says David Raposa, Managing Director of Public Affairs for AAA.

Tropical storm Hermine has moved past Florida, and is now lashing southern states. The potential for problems in New England, causing Rhode Islanders like Jamie and Benjamin Jewett to change their labor day plans.
 
"We were going to go sailing this weekend in Maine. Then, we decided with the weather we would go to the cape instead, but definitely thinking about coming back early," says Jamie.

Others, reconsidering their plans all together.

"What we did last year is we went on a really fun bike ride in Jamestown and had dinner somewhere after, really beautiful. If it’s raining out it’s not really a bike fun event, so we wont go there."

But not all are letting the fear of a storm get in the way of plans.

"I’m going to Maine, Kennebunkport I’m not really concerned I’m not going to let it dampen my plans,"says William Elias.
