LADD Observatory astronomer breaks down the upcoming solar eclipse
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Francine Jackson, staff astrologist at LADD observatory at Brown university joined us in the ABC6 studio Thursday to talk about the upcoming total solar eclipse.
“Here in RI unfortunately it won’t be total, but you’ll probably have a better sky than a lot of other people,” said Jackson.
“You will have 90 percent of the sun disappear.”
Jackson also talked about the best places to observe the eclipse.
“So you can see it from your backyard,” said Jackson.
But there are some great spots to catch it other than outside your back door.
The green at Brown, Roger Williams Park Museum front yard and Seagrave Observatory in North Scituate were listed as optimal locations to see the eclipse.
