PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The son of the late mobster Bobo Marrapese appeared before a judge in superior court today accused of strangling his ex-girlfriend to death.

40-year-old Michael Marrapese plead not guilty to first degree murder charges in Superior Court this morning. He is being held without bail until a status hearing in 2-weeks.

Back in March, Marrapese allegedly strangled his ex-girlfriend 29-year-old Lauren Ise to death inside of their Cranston apartment.

Police say the couple had domestic issues in the past and that Ise felt threatened by Marrapese after they broke up.

However, she did not have a restraining order against him.

Ise’s mother, Cheryl Pallazo, was in the courtroom for the arraignment today with her partner and a handful of Laurens friends.

She said she didn’t want but knew she had to be here for her daughter.

“It was very difficult, I actually got to see him and it just brought everything back, but I was here for Lauren and I’m glad we came.

She and her family say they will drive here from their home in Pennsylvania for every appearance Marapese makes in court.
