Light snow on Friday followed by another blast of Arctic air
A few flurries out there Thursday evening, but conditions will otherwise be dry and cold through Friday morning. Our southern-runner of a storm will be a bit too far offshore for much snow. A general coating to 2″ of snow is expected locally, with the higher end being along the shoreline. Parts of Cape Cod as well as the Vineyard and Nantucket could see as much as 3″ of snow with some heavier bursts as the storm pulls away.
Drier but frigid weather is in store for the weekend. Temperatures both days will be in the 20s during the day and 10s at night – with wind chills nearing 0°! Expect more clouds than sun Saturday but bright blue winter skies on Sunday. Temperatures return to seasonable on Monday (upper 30s) and then climb into the 40s for the middle of next week. The next chance for rain will be Wednesday into Thursday.
