Lincoln Police arrest woman for alleged DUI with child in vehicle

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Lincoln Police Department said it arrested a woman for driving under the influence with a child in her car.
37-year-old Carolyn Choquette was charged with driving under the influence BAC unknown, cruelty/neglect of a child, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Police responded to the area of the Little General on Front Street around 8:30 on Feb. 13 for a call where the caller was almost struck by a driver.
When police arrived they allegedly observed Choquette shopping with her 11-year-old son.
Police said they “were immediately overwhelmed by the odor of alcohol” and “noticed her speech was slurred,” and performed a sobriety test, which Choquette allegedly failed.
Police added that when they searched Choquette’s car, they also allegedly found 12 empty “nip” bottles.
