UPDATE: suspect arrested after late-night shooting

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Police have arrested a suspect after a shooting that sent a man to the hospital late Monday night. 

Police identify the suspect as 22 year-old Sean Almeida-Brown.

Almeida-Brown and the victim were arguing outside an apartment building on Smithfield Avenue near Higginson Avenue around 11:00 PM, when one man shot the other. Both men knew each other. 

The 22-year-old victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police say Almeida Brown shooter took off in a dark-colored vehicle heading south on Smithfield Avenue.

The suspect was arrested at his home in Woonsocket. He will be arriagned in sixth district court on Tuesday.
