Lincoln police search for armed robbery suspect

Lincoln police are searching for a suspect who attempted to rob a liquor store at gun point.

On Monday, at approximately 7:18 p.m. the Lincoln Police Department reported to the One Stop Liquor Store located at 97 Railroad Street in the Manville section of Lincoln. Upon arrival, officers met with the store owner who said that a man attempted to rob the liquor store with a gun.

"As soon as he walked in and loaded his gun, he put a bullet in the chamber. I stood up and he said give me the money. That one second decision, I said, nope I’m not going to give you the money, said store owner Nick Yuzbasioglu.

Yuzbasioglu says after he refused to give the robber money he became irritated.he robber got irritated and demanded that he open up the cash register.

“He put the gun in my stomach and said open the cash register. I started banging his chest,” said Yuzbasioglu. "I said get out or I’m going to kill you."

From there you can see Yuzbasioglu leading the masked man out of the store on surveillance video. but.. The robber didn’t go easily, he tried to push the door open several times after the owner gets him outside.

"He said well I have to get money. I said money is not here and you can not get any money. He said but I’m going to kill you. And, I said even if you kill me you are not going to get a penny from here,” said Yuzbasioglu.

Yuzbasioglu says this is the second time in 22 years he’s been robbed at gunpoint. The last time he handed over the money.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’9” to 5’10” in height, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded North Face Denali jacket, a black ski mask, black sweatpants with a logo on left thigh, black and gray work gloves, and black and tan work boots.
