List of Beach Closings and Other Storm-Related Notices

ABC6 News

Storm-related beach closures received by ABC6:

  • Sachuest Beaches in Middletown – swim at your own risk as there is a riptide warning.
  • Warwick beaches are closed until Sunday.
  • Atlantic Beach Club beach in Middletown
  • Easton's Point Beach in Newport
  • Scarborough North and South in Narragansett

Flood warning:

  • The RI EMA has issued a flood warning for the Pawtuxet River, which is about 9 feet above flood state.  Officials will meet this morning to re-evaluate.

Boil water order:

  • Middletown residents are instructed to boil their water because of a water main break.  Residents of Portsmouth and Middletown are asked to limit water usage but are not under a boil order.

Ports, ferries, etc:

  • The Block Island Ferry is back on its normal schedule today.
  • The Massachusetts Steamship Authority has cancelled two ferry runs this morning…check their website.

Rails

  • Amtrak reports that rail service between Boston and New York is still suspended because of storm damage in Connecticut.  Check Amtrak's website for updates.
