Little Miss and Miss 4th of July crowned in Bristol

We got a look into Bristol's famed Fourth of July Parade over the weekend.

Miss and Little Miss Fourth of July were crowned at Mount Hope High School to cheers from their family and friends. The auditorium was packed as this year's Little Miss, nine year old Samantha Martins, was crowned.

2012's Miss Fourth of July Alexandra Absi, who's a senior at Mount Hope High, also accepted her honor. Both girls are from Bristol and said they couldn't be more proud to wave to their fans at this year's Fourth of July Parade.

“As soon as someone pinched me, I was like oh my God,” said Martins, “I didn't know. I thought this was just a dream and it was true, and I think this is going to be so magical.”

“I want to cry I'm so excited,” said Absi, “I'm the happiest girl in the world right now. I really am.”
