Local bakery’s sweet and buttery combination has people talking
RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) – The Cake Diva, a local bakery in Raynham, has a new sweet and buttery treat that has people talking.
Owner and Pastry Chef Alain El Khoury has added ‘crookie’ to the menu. It is a combination of a croissant and chocolate chip cookie.
The ‘crookie’ is made by first baking a croissant and then filling it with cookie dough. It then goes back into the oven to bake for a second time to combine the two before making its way to the display case for customers to enjoy.
El Khoury was trained in Paris and wanted to bring his talent to the U.S. He says everyone loves a good combo and since people love chocolate chip cookies and he makes a good croissant, he decided to make them into one.
