Local church asks for donations to aid hurricane relief effort

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Maple Root Baptist Church announced it is collecting donations to send a truck full of supplies to North Carolina to help with Hurricane Helene recovery.

The church posted to Facebook asking for crucial supplies such as warm clothing, heaters, and shovels.

It will be accepting donations from Tuesday, Oct. 15 to Oct. 22 at 150 Harkney Hill Road in Coventry, Rhode Island.

The church also welcomes money contributions on its website to purchase supplies, which must be labeled “hurricane” in the note section.
