Local college professor pays tribute to late journalist Cokie Roberts

Bristol, RI (WLNE) – A professor at Roger Williams University is paying respects to journalism legend Cokie Roberts.
A professor from Roger Williams University’s school of journalism says she remembers when Roberts visited the Bristol campus five years ago to talk about her book Founding Mothers, and how she made a direct connection to Rhode Island.
“Cokie Roberts writes and spoke here about the role Catherine Littlefield Greene played in helping build our nation,” Professor Paula Prado said.
Roberts was the daughter of Hale and Lindy Boggs, two members of Congress from Louisiana, and went on the chronicle the political world she grew up in.
She joined ABC News in 1988 and was co-anchor with Sam Donaldson of the Sunday political show “This Week” from 1996 to 2002.
Roberts passed away Tuesday at 75-years-old Tuesday due to complications from breast cancer.
