Sean Spicer may have had a short run as White House Press Secretary but it was certainly a memorable one. Today in a tweet the Barrington native let everyone know he was resigning. It came just an hour after Wall Street veteran Anthony Scaramucci was hired to lead the Communications Department.
Spicer became a household name due in large part to Melissa McCarthy playing him on Saturday Night Live.
Laughs aside Rhode Island GOP Chair Brandon Bell, who calls Spicer a personal friend, thought he handled the tough position well and said in part, "He represented the President of the United States and communicated the policies of the Administration very effectively in a war zone every time he walked into that press room."
