Local TV stars play softball to make “A Wish Come True”

Saturday was the fourth annual “Duel on the Diamond” softball game, which benefited the “A Wish Come True” foundation.

Local television and radio personalities including people from NBC10, WPRI-12, and WPRO stepped up to the plate.

The television personalities won out, 8-7, against a team of radio personalities from local stations.

The game took place at Agawam Park in East Providence. The game started at noon, and ended later in the afternoon.

ABC6 was represented by our main anchorman, John DeLuca.

Reporter Alexandra Cowley played right field. She did a great job.

Sports anchor Courtney Fallon was an all-star, playing catcher behind the plate.

ABC6 anchor and reporter Liz Tufts played center field, battling for the TV squad. ABC6 reporter Mark Curtis got to coach first base and videotape the highlights.

The big winners of this game, however, are children with medical conditions who want to make a wish come true. Their favorite destination? Disney world!
