Love Is In The Air… And So Is A Chill!

It’s going to be a chilly Valentine’s Day! Despite the sunshine, temperatures will only be in the low 30s, and with the wind, it will feel like the low 20s at times. On that note, the wind could make things uncomfortable today as gusts could get into the 30s, 40s, and even near 50 mph in the morning and afternoon. Bundle up, and be careful behind the wheel!

Saturday starts out relatively calm, but clouds increase quickly through the day. Temperatures are in the teens in the morning, and low 30s in the afternoon. Our third of three storms finally arrives Saturday evening, and it could pose some issues, especially for anyone with plans on Sunday.

The storm starts with snow showers beginning Saturday evening, lasting until early Sunday morning. We’ll see a changeover to a wintry mix before sunrise on Sunday, and that mix looks like it could largely bring freezing rain. We’ll see the switch to some plain old rain mid to late morning Sunday, which will continue until the storm leaves us Sunday evening.

While we could certainly see some decent accumulating snow as this storm ramps up, my biggest concern by far is the potential for freezing rain. Even a tiny bit of icing on roadways, sidewalks, and powerlines can lead to widespread issues. With that in mind, please make sure you’re really staying tuned to the forecast as we get through this weekend.

After our storm leaves, the wind and cold return for Monday and Tuesday.
