Lovely weather continues through Friday, weekend trending drier

In a positive turn of events, our weekend isn’t looking like a washout after all!

There will still be some light rain possible late Saturday into early Sunday, but outdoor plans are no longer largely in jeopardy.

Clouds will begin to increase Friday night into Saturday, but the rain should hold off until the late afternoon or evening.

Showers will continue into Sunday morning, especially southern portions of the area, but the weather will gradually dry out.

The reason for this sudden change is the likely development of a virtually stationary low pressure system off the Canadian Maritimes.

The northly/northeasterly flow from this will suppress our weekend storm further south and yield significantly lower rain totals.

So while it may be the sixth weekend in a row with rain, at least we will likely have many dry hours for some fall activites.

It will certainly be feeling like fall, with highs dropping into the 50s heading into the new week.

Have a great night!
