Holcott Drive in Attleboro is a quiet residential neighborhood.
So when people who live there started seeing some suspicious things going on, it raised red flags pretty quickly.
"They witnessed suspicious activity around a residence near Bishop Feehan High School…they were concerned enough with the activity that they believed it was related to drugs and drug sales."
Turns out those concerns were well founded.
After taking a closer look at things, and keeping an eye on a certain sketchy guy for a couple weeks, police moved in.
Attleboro Police Detective Lieutenant Timothy Cook says, "Detectives developed knowledge he was going to be delivering crack cocaine to a residence…they conducted surveillance on that location and when the subject arrived they intercepted him and took him into custody."
The guy they cuffed was 49-year-old Oscar Perez. When investigators took him in they not only found he was holding crack cocaine, but with the help of a Mass State Police K-9 they discovered a special compartment in his vehicle – hiding more drugs.
In total they found more than 14 grams of crack and cocaine inside. And that wasn’t all…
"That led to the issuance of a search warrant for his apartment…and detectives found over 200 g of crack and powder cocaine and heroin."
All in all, the street value of those drugs was about $23,000, the biggest bust in the city’s recent history.
Now thanks to those tips, police are telling residents to continue reaching out to them if they see anything suspicious.
