Man, 42, found guilty of fatal hammer attack in Fall River

Fall River police released this booking photo of Adam Levesque.

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A 42-year-old man has been convicted of brutally killing another man with a hammer in Fall River nearly four years ago.

Adam Levesque was found guilty of killing 39-year-old Lance Correia, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

In October 2018, Fall River police responded to Rock Street where they found Correia covered in blood and his face swollen.

Investigators determined that Levesque struck him in the right side of the head with the hammer, over $2,000 worth of heroin that went missing. Correia later died from his injuries.

“I’m very pleased the jury held the defendant accountable for this brutal and senseless killing of his friend, which appeared to be over drugs,” District Attorney Quinn said.

The district attorney’s office said Levesque had a history of committing violent crimes.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in September.
